I didn’t know which to prioritize, providing comfort to Georgia or addressing the ghost hunter issue. Steven’s disappearance was obviously concerning, if he has been killed then it’s likely that it involved the same person that killed Lewis.

“Are you with us?” Tammy asked. “You seem to be a million miles away.”

“I just have a lot on my mind,” I sighed. “Okay, where to start...first of all there is a ghost hunter in town.”

“When isn't there a ghost hunter?” mom replied.

“Well this one is different. I had a vision and this guy captured a ghost in a crystal.” They exchanged looks but not words. Tammy and my mom seemed to know something that I didn’t.

“That’s your killer,” TJ interjected.

“Huh?” I said.

“This ghost hunter, I’m assuming it’s a human, has done the impossible. Only, it isn’t impossible if you get the circumstances just right for ghost capture,” TJ explained.

“Those stupid human machines have the ability to capture a ghost if it is fresh, if the ghost has only just entered the ghost realm, do you follow?” mom asked.

“You’re saying that the ghost hunter had to have captured Lewis within moments of his death?” I guessed, not quite understanding what they were saying.

“Exactly. If this guy is the one that killed Lewis then he would have known the ghost was brand new, the perfect opportunity to catch one,” Tammy said.

“Someone else is missing now too,” I murmured, trying hard to think if there had been any other clues in my vision. “We need to get hold of that crystal.”

“How do you plan on doing that? It’s probably around that nerd’s neck like a badge of honor,” TJ smirked.

“He’s right, it won’t be just lying around for us to take,” mom said.

“Then what exactly do you suggest?” I snapped. “Getting hold of Lewis’s ghost might help us get the information we need on who killed him. If this guy has taken someone else to murder and then capture their ghost as well then...I can’t do nothing.”

“You don’t have to do nothing; we just have to track down the equipment...that will be easier than hunting for the killer. We can locate his machinery and that will lead us right to him, he won’t have it far away from where he plans to kill this next guy, the devices need to be close in order to work,” mom said, sweeping the kitchen counter clean with a brushing movement of her right arm and spreading books out.

“What are we looking for?” I asked.

“Morgs, find out which machine you saw in the dream, there are a few types so if you narrow it down then that will help,” mom began. “Then we can go from there.” Tammy, my mother and TJ all stepped back and watched as I flipped through multiple ghost hunting guidebooks that featured equipment and instructions on how to use them.

They all had such unique designs, but I couldn’t find the machine I was looking for. I closed the penultimate open book on the counter and began to skim read the last text.
